Inside Elections ratings · snapshot October 15, 2026 · checked October 20 · review due October 27.
Assumed seat distribution for the incoming Congress, including any required later count or runoff.
Toss-up assigns no favorite. Tilt is the closest favored category used here. Lean, Likely and Solid retain their rated favorite in every option, though upsets remain possible. Both favorable choices apply the same rule; they are not equally likely forecasts or confidence bounds.
The horizon is the incoming Congress after any required runoff or later count. The 65 holdovers and their caucus affiliations are assumed to continue. Minor-party or Independent wins are not estimated; no Democratic caucus affiliation is assigned to Dan Osborn. Governors and nonvoting delegates are outside these totals.

Reported totals can change as more ballots arrive or corrections are issued. A source may call a race; certification is a separate official step. This scoreboard never makes a winner call just from a lead or reporting percentage.
All precincts submitting a report does not mean every ballot is counted. Estimated vote counted needs its own identified source. Ranked-choice rounds, runoffs, and recounts remain separate.
When verified sources are connected, results will show when the source reported them. Updates could be published hourly, with a reload button to check for the latest edition. No results feed or scheduled result updates are connected now.
If a future update fails, the scoreboard can retain its last good snapshot with a visible stale or error label. Corrections can increase or decrease totals. A source may retract a call, and certification comes separately.
